We are really happy to announce that Rockwood Academy has once again won a Gold accreditation.
We gained the award from Investors in People, who assess how good organisations are at supporting their staff and helping them grow. Only 17% of organisations which go through the IIP process achieve an accreditation at gold level.
To win this prestigious award, the school was assessed against nine criteria: building capacity, developing continuous improvement, leading and inspiring people, leading values and behaviours, empowering and involving people, structuring work, recognising and rewarding performance and structuring work.
As a school we were told that our culture is one where students always come first, ensuring they can apply themselves with diligence and enthusiasm in all that they do every day. We were awarded gold because the school plays such a central role in its community.
It was obvious from the feedback from Investors in People that our staff are proud of our students and their progress. It was also made clear that there is a high standard of teaching and learning at the school, based on a genuine partnership between staff, students and the community. Some key quotes from the report include:
Through our values of collaboration, opportunity, respect and excellence, we have a culture in which staff and students can flourish. We were already aware of how much of a community spirit there is here at Rockwood, but to have it confirmed by an independent body is a brilliant feeling.
We just want to say a massive well done to every one of our employees, students and parents for helping us to achieve such a fantastic award. We could not have done so without you.
